All of a sudden, I turn my pc on and it can't startup Windows. It just goes straight to the Windows startup repair, which can't solve it.
Have restored to the oldest possible restore point, and have run the memory diagnostic T9ol, but none of them help at all.

Really worried right now.

Looks like you are going to have to reinstall windows I'm afraid.

If you have important files on your computer then use Ubunty and boot from CD and backup your files, or install windows in a different folder without formatting the hdd.

if its w7 / vista, jsut reinstall and (assuming you dont format) it will put the windows, users and prog files into a folder called windows.old

A repair install might be a better option to try first. It will preserve your profile and personal data [though some customizations will be lost - wallpaper, theme etc].

Though I would recommend backing up any data on C: before trying [use a Linux Live CD to access your HDD].

unless you accidently click to format the drive there is no chance of loosing any data with a vista / w7 install (assuming you have a windows OEM reinstall disk and not some trash it and run MFG reset disk)

anyway if its important data you already have it backed up ! (dont you)

With a repair install you avoid having to reinstall all your software and restoring your data.

I always recommend people backup their stuff because bad things may happen. Doesn't matter how careful you are! :p
