Okay guys, this is a follow on from this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17938767&highlight=psu+died So if you could, please quickly read that to get the jist of my problem beforehand.
Well it was concluded in that thread that it was almost certainly my PSU that was the problem so I got a 375w Enermax Noisetaker and connected everything up but now my PC won't turn on at all, not even so much as a flash of life when I press the power button at the front of my PC.
I've checked everything is connected properly and it all seems to be so I really don't know what the problem is. One thing I should mention though is that my motherboard is a 24pin but the ATX power supply connection from my PSU is only 20pin. I know some PSUs come with a 4pin connecter that you can attach to the 20pin to make it a 24pin but mine doesn't seem to have this. Could this be the problem and why my PC isn't booting? The only thing that makes me doubt that this is the problem is that I recall when I first built this PC a few years ago I actually had the computer running for a couple of days with the 20pin connecter connected to the 24pin slot before I realised that I needed to connect the 4pin adapter to the 20pin ATX power supply (this was all on my old PSU of course).
So I'm abit stumped. Starting to think maybe the problem wasn't my PSU at all and something else is wrong?
