So... I got a bit annoyed about the wait for the 2080 benchmarks so I bought a PS4 Pro and a PS VR.

That 350+250 + a few games.
And I'm returning the Ps4 Pro [keeping my OG PS4] and keeping the VR reluctantly.

I don't know why but in my mind I thought that all PS4 games are cheap now... but they're not. Games that have been knocking about for 6 months are still £30-£40. I was quite shocked.

The PSVR for £250 with controllers + 2 games is.. a good deal. But a rift with 7 games and MUCH better controllers and MUCH better tracking is £399 [and I can claim back some VAT on that via business which is a harder sell for anything with the words playstation in it].

Gaming library wise, I do have a PS4 subscription but the PS Store had basically nothing good for value on offer. The second hand market for games gives you 5-8£ off of the amazon store prices....

Unlike PC gaming, I no longer have 200 steam games to fall back on and up-res whenever needed.

And finally the most important thing, the pro didn't feel pro at all. It felt like a compromise in visual quality and frame rate. I don't mind compromising one or the other but it seemed to struggle to lock 60 on much, and at the same time it struggled to hit 4k.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I think I'm returning my pro, gonna stick with the OG PS4...

Personally I really dislike console gaming.

Had them all. Hated them all.

Other than the switch. That is the best console experience I've had.

PC gaming is sublime.

What did you have before? Old PC stuff blows console gaming out the water.

Worst thing about consoles is the controllers (PS4 especially), game availability, and game cost. If you actually buy a lot of games the cost could end up being higher than a PC, plus a PC in general will last longer than a console generation.
