Anyone else agree? :p

I hate the term "geek". Technology is one of the best creations of mankind and we should enjoy it.

Anyone proud of being a geek?

I hide my geekiness. I've learnt that to display it means you end up becoming tech support for family and inevitably all their idiotic friends.

People who don't use the scroll wheel drive me nuts. Or type something into google search then use the mouse to click search. It drives me up the wall.

I hate being tech support.

:D

Or people who can't handle having more than two windows open at once and lose track of where they dragged their file to ....

Or people who don't understand that itunes does not contain files. The answer to "Where is the .mp3 that you downloaded?" is not "in itunes".

or people that think just because somethings 3.0ghz it means its faster then something at 2.8 ghz even if its a dual core and the 2.8 is quad

I think the term geek gets used too loosely, most people are just enthusiasts - a geek would be someone who you could name some obscure hardware model number and they could tell you off the top of their head the exact specs, release date, who developed it, etc. etc.

HAHA that was great.

I got in an argument once with someone who was adamant that because their computer was quad core it meant there computer was over 10Ghz.

"No. Each core is 2.66Ghz"
"Yeah, so that means it's 10+Ghz"
"No, it means each core is 2.66Ghz"
"10Ghz"
"2.66"
"10!"
"I'm leaving"

Its really surprising how little people know about computers considering the amount of them that couldn't work without one.
I don't mind being considered a geek nowdays...i have been called a lot worse.
