Looking for a bit of help here please.........

Shut my computer down normally Thursday night last week........when I came to turn it back on Friday evening it powered on for approx 1 sec then shut off......fans stopped spinning etc.

Since then I've stripped down all parts so it's just the psu and mobo connected and it has the same symptoms, i.e. not powering on for more than 1 sec.

I've tested the voltages from a couple molexes and the 8 pin 12v connector and they were normal....

Does this suggest mobo issue?

Also if I take out the 12v cable the power stays on for about 10-15 seconds. Not sure whether it should or not?

Current specs (for ref.):
AMD 7750BE @ 3.05Ghz
3Gb ocz ram
Asus M2N32SLi Dlx
Palit 1Gb 4870 turbo
PSU Enermax Noisetaker 600w (Rev 2.2?)

Turn PSU off at rear.

Attach a fan and a fan only to any molex connector - disconnect everything else.

Bypass the ATX power jump by applying a connection on the green pin to any black pin on the 24 pin connector.

Turn on PSU at rear

The fan should spin immediately. While it is check the voltages.

If the fan works and the voltages look fine then it looks like a bad mobo, possibly faulty VRMs.

Cheers for that Huddy, tried that last night and as I'd expected voltages were spot on.....looks like a problem with the board.

Is there a release date for the new bulldozer platform yet? and would it be worthwhile getting a cheap board to tide me over until the next gen arrives?
