I was given a pair of these black Comtrend 200s which I've been using for a few months but most of the time the connection was abysmal (red blinking LED).
I found out there was an interface could be logged into and here is the result of disabling the AdjustPSD option in the Phy section:
It often reports slightly above 100 Mbps now and rarely drops below ~80 Mbps.
Before the change it was mostly red LED with abysmal speeds whereas now it's always green LED.

I haven't actually tested much to find out if it's for real but will do so later when the network isn't in use.
Only changing the AdjustPSD setting made a difference but I can't find information about it online so I have no idea why.
