Hey guys
I had an idea I'm not sure exactly what or how I want it to pan out but tell me what you think because it rely's on you guys on Overclockers UK forum.

So here it is a mini ITX Build that we give away when it's done so a tiny powerhouse of a build but silent so noctua fans and CPU cooler. But that's all I have as a contribution obviously I could come up with the whole build but I think it's a cool community thing we could do how does it sound?

Thanks BM

You could do it as a raffle and the tickets would provide the funding for the actual build :)

I would be happy to provide my PC Building skills free of charge for this.

The spec of the build could also be determined on the amount of tickets sold.

As much as i want to sound like a "team player guy" :') Youve not been part of the community long so don't take it a bad way when we say we don't trust you not to just do one with funding or parts, We aint seen any of your previous work either so i do doubt you will get far.

Even our best guys like Davido, deblow, snips, jay etc (sorry if i missed you and i liked your project ;) ) stuggle to get any sponsorship off anyone and probably would struggle to pull the community together to do something like this

It's only an idea I accept that fact but I though it could be a fun concept even if it doesn't get put into action so I'm really asking for part idea's. Your right unicorn I haven't been part of the community long and hopefully by next week Saturday you will see my work. And this is why I put this as a concept because I was wondering how you guys would feel about it. Sponsorship wasn't a big plan on the build it was more a plan on getting a few ideas for a mini ITX build and seeing where it went from there. As for my contribution it's really bringing the idea to light I was thinking we could do it for charity though. The charity I'm thinking of would be http://pwsa.co.uk this charity has a special place in my heart (it's a long story but if you'd like to hear it I'd be happy to tell it). So tell me what you think many thanks BM

If your looking to do a charity build approach various companies for it with some evidence of your previous work. Corsair, Kingston, Gigabyte, MSI, Bitfenix, Asus all either have reps on here or are known for supporting builds :) Intel as far as im aware don't or iv never seen one..

Hi, Nice idea but your still quite new here as stated above so you will find it hard going, maybe if you start a virgin just give site linked to the build and one of the funders could win the build could be the starting point but the money raised would have to go to a registered charity.

I have listed the charity up above that I would give the money to and just checked they are a registered charity. I had a small think about where the money would go and I thought I would like to ask someone for help on setting up the site and where the money goes. Also if anyone wants to help in any capacity such as website help raffle help and so on please feel free to ask and I'll pm my email to you if possible many thanks BM

Just mirroring what the other's said really - however, if OcUK wanted to get in, what you could do is have a sort of donation page for the forum where whoever wants to chips in, OcUK would build the mITX system and then the forum could hold off the raffle and the proceeds go to the charities - that way the component charges are covered, OcUK would support the build (if they wanted to) by building the system, happy days

Very true but as I've said on my current build project I'm away in mull and I get very limited access to the internet I've had a good day today but when I get back that sounds good but what I'm really looking for right now is someone to help with the donation handling and stuff like that many thanks BM

All good points.

I think your next port of call should be acontacting on of the OcUK Administrators in regards to your proposal.

Might also be worth you actually writing the proposal up so that they could forward this information to prospective supporters.

In regards to the raffle tickets it may be that OcUK can help you there also by maybe making a product listing on the site and maybe some promotion on the homepage.

Hi BM

This type of funded project isn't normally carried out on OcUK forums, so I hope you can appreciate the concerns of the moderating team.
If in the future this is to be allowed, it would most definitely have to be carried out by either a 'Man of Honour', OcUK employee or member of the Moderating team.

Understandable dirty jester I can accept that no problem it's for a good cause. Also I'm sorry for concerning the moderating team I'll shut the thread down if there becomes a need just give me the word. Many thanks BM
