Concerned over mobo temperature

Hi,

I have just recently installed a brand new mobo (Asus P5Q Deluxe) due to my last mobo dying.

I haven't adjusted any BIOS settings at all & I am a little concerned about the mobo temps after load.

I was playing WoW on full settings & after I finished playing (2 hours) I decided to check the temps through PC Probe II & it was firing up an alert & indicating the mobo temp was at 50 degrees C.

Is this a temp to worry about?

Thx.
Lee.

Shouldnt be alerting you at that temp, should be able to adjust threshold.

50*C isnt a temp to worry about after 2 hrs of gaming, maybe if it went too much over it.

How is your case airflow?

Also I used PC Probe for a bit and got annoyed with its stupidly low thresholds and warnings, I only use it now to verify 3rd party apps are reading the correct temp.

You can use whatever you like, they will all give you same readings (other than maybe core temps). I use everest personally as it lets me display an array of info on my G15 LCD.

That tempertature is fine after gaming. I've had a couple of boards with fairly high mobo temps, but the the onboard sensors can be located in places that receive little air flow. If the sensor is near your graphics card then it will defintely go up more during gaming.

I've got an IR thermometer and I've measured the key components on those boards and found them to be better than the mobo temperature would suggest.
