Hi

I have just built a new PC and have downloaded SpeedFan to have a look at the temperatures.

These are a summary of the results I get

Temp1 48c
Temp 2 30c
Temp 3 24c
Local temp 40c
Remote temp 32c
Core 0 66c
Core 1 64c

This PC is a E6300 with two Akasa 120mm amber fans and a tuniq 120 installed.

Now I am obviously concerned with the temperatures of the dual cores and whether I haven't installed something incorrectly? Am I correct in being concerned and any ideas how to lower the temp if it is a problem?

Thanks

i would have thought that the temps should be lower with that setup.
what tim have you used(AS5?)
maybe reapply the tim and heatsink

yeah something doesn't sound right there... maybe not seated properly? and get intel tat, much better temp monitor.

Thanks for the replies.

I pulled the PC to bits again, took off the Tuniq 120, reapplied the AS5 ( a bit more liberablly rather the the small rice size spec I had before) and the reseated the Tuniq with it blowing upwards rather than down like it was before (I can't make it blow directly out the back as it wont fit that way).

The temps are now as follows, witht the tuniq on half power:

Temp1 31c
Temp 2 27c
Temp 3 24c
Local temp 37c
Remote temp 29c
Core 0 34c
Core 1 34c

Is this more like what I should be expecting or is this still too high?

Thanks

Strange - mine works fine (needs to be run as administrator though). Not sure what revison I have but its the one downloaded from the first link in google - 'intel TAT'.

you just halved your core temps, thats good in my book, and much closer to what you should be expecting. i get between 28 and 32C at stock idle with my Ultra-120, depending upon room temp and how much stuff i shut down.

Try CoreTemp, it also reads from the die thermal sensor, and might be compatible with Vista?

Looks like you are ready to push your comp to the limits..... lucky, i had to take sandpaper to my CPU before i got temps like that, my IHS was seriously dipped (getting 38-44C idle) and it took AGES to get flat with 400 git.

Good luck!
