Morning all.

Never played with either of these, downloading them as we speak, but could some one who's used them give me a quick over view of the pros and cons of each?

In particular, how they compare to Joomla & Wordpress. In my mind, they seem aimed are larger, more corporate sites than Joomla or WP, and aren't nessacarily easy for a computer amateur to understand or use, is this the case?

I have used concrete5 and really like it. It does so much out of the box and the marketplace features lots of very useful addons (some of which are free).

One thing is that a lot of the features are javascript based and I'm not sure if they 'degrade peacefully' if JavaScript is disabled but it does seem like fairly messy script that is generated.

Either way it is very simple to use and offers so much for the end user to do very easily.

Concrete5 is really an application framework too so you can add in all your own custom functionality. For the sites I have built I have installed c5, created theme, set up some page templates and then maybe coded a few custom blocks but nothing major.

Definitely is worth a look.
