Well I played through this for the first time over the past few days.

The first half or so of the game was amazing, and at that point I felt like it was one of my favourite games ever. Amazing atmosphere, decent storyline, brutal combat. And it was scary as hell.

I could ignore the absymal framerate and some incredibly dodgy modelling. The shotgun? Wtf is that? Rosa's face? What's wrong it with it? Her jaw looks like it took 10 rounds with Mike Tyson...and...is that...stubble? So she's a tranny that recently went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Ok. But nevermind, I could ignore these things for the most part and enjoy the game.

Then they had to ruin it with all this stupid super natural crap. WHY DO THEY ALWAYS DO THIS? It completely ruined the atmosphere. Also the introduction of...sub machine guns...it just ruined the tension. How can I be scared when I'm running around with a damn sub machine gun? Pistols and Shotguns? Borderline but acceptable. Sub machine guns...sorry that just ruins it.

Completely ruined.

Sigh. It could have been a truly incredible game.

I never got more than half way through the first, loved it though and ive got the 2nd still sealed up somewhere, really need to crack that one out!
Shame you feel it went down the pan, hopefully the 2nd hasnt done the same

Play it without the guns like a real pro

(Plus you get a "Gold Melee Master" achievement)

I still think Condemned is a fantastic game, despite the supernatural/messed up sections. If anything, I thought they added to the game.

I finished this last week, played the first half ages ago and just never went back to it, I enjoyed it but just didn't have time,
I went back and finished it so I could play the second game but I wish I hadn't bothered, The sequel just seems really poor, Couldn't play it for more than an hour

The first game was great though despite some dodgy bits

I never got the chance to play the 1st one but I actually enjoyed the 2nd one on PS3... some nice tension moments and the multiplayer was... amusing, all be it briefly. I didn't expect much and because of that I wasn't disappointed. It was a nice gap filler IMO.

It does drag in the middle a bit but then it picks up again wonderfully for a superb ending. I could never quite get the same atmosphere from Condemned 2. I gave that up after the first two levels.

i am currently playing through this and have just finished the 3rd level. Seems very good and atmospheric at the moment and really enjoying it
