I have a new fish tank and noticed next to it a few windows have condensation stuck inside the glass, so cant be wiped!

I have recently bought a Humidifier and that seems to pull lots of water out of the air and other windows have stayed fine.

Is there any way I can get my windows back to normal? or will the glass need taking out and replacing?

Thanks for any help!!

:)

Just to point out, don't go to one of those installer companies, remove the glass and take it to a glazing supplier, they will either make a new one for you or they will send the dimensions to someone who does this.

Just for the hell of it, try warming the glass with a hairdryer first, might work might not.

I did this last year. Cost £30 for an approx 1.25mx0.5m window. Not too hard to fit for a competent DIYer

If you leave it a few years you will have a few fish tanks :p. I have had a double glazed unit that was half full of water once. We had to drill a hole in it on the outside to drain it before we could remove it as they had cream coloured carpets.

It all depends on what type of window it is as to how easy the unit will be to replace. Some old PVC beads can be a nightmare to remove without damaging the bead. Also be aware that the gaskets will probably need replacing at the same time. They tend to turn from a soft pliable rubber to a very rigid almost like plastic and can shrink over time. Better to replace and make sure the window is as watertight as possible.

If its a timber window then cut through the old putty with an oscillating multi-tool with a carbide blade.
