Condenser dryer. Which one

If I were using one regularly would definitely consider getting a smart meter and using the 7p/Kwh night units you can get, you can even pay more for the dryer reliability offset by unit costs.

earlier threads - probably not whirlpool ... although don't think it was their recent factory fire

I have a Beko 8kg condenser that I got from currys.

It cost me £210 at the time but I think its over £250 now. I really like it as it comes with a hose you can pull out and attach to a drain, meaning you never have to empty the condenser bit out. Super handy!

I’ve got the French version of the 8kg Beko unit and am very happy with it. Alas, due to it being 4-5 metres downhill from the nearest drain, I’m emptying it manually.

Easy to set to run overnight using the cheap rate electricity.

I would recommend having it sat in a well-ventilated room as it does kick out a bit of heat.

I think I have the same. Got it in the garage, through the hose through the wall and in to a guttering downpipe.

I have never seen a dryer which doesnt have this feature :p

I've been looking in to these and lot's of people say they chuck a lot of moisture out in to the room. Where ours is going is a smallish room with bugger all ventilation so am wondering if it makes more sense just to go vented and drill a hole in the wall if I've got to drill a hole in the wall for ventilation anyway....

Ours is a Beko, which has been fine for 7 or so years. They're not as quick to dry stuff as vented ones though, I don't think.

I'd avoid putting the dryer on at night, with it being the most likely appliance to burn you to death in your sleep.

Depends on the dryer you need to look carefully at the condenser performance as they are definitely not all equal. We have a Bosch one as it was one of the best in terms of actually condensing!

none of them can be run in a room that is not ventilated in some way .... discussed in earlier threads ... older relation was surprised by mold growth in such room ... obviously bad for health too.
lower temperature over longer period is kinder to clothes ... as well as using electric, they must contribute to premature ageing on clothing versus free range.

Drum size/diameter is important ... undersized our washer choice at 7Kg, versus previous 8kg, but king size sheets/duvets easily/frustratingly get tangled with other clothes
