Just jumped off the phone from Apple where they've confirmed I'll be getting a replacement phone for my iphone5 as a faults occurred with the charging point.

Now they confirmed I'll be getting a replacement and when I asked if it would be a new phone I was told along the lines of "the phone will meet Apples standards and be like for like with your current phone". So in essence a refurbished model?

Now I'm still in my first years warranty (by 11days phew!) so I'm happy with the service so far. But as I'm still in the first 12months - can I ask for a new phone? or will I be stuck with whatever they class as meeting Apple standards?

Cheer's

p.s I bought my phone via Tmobile on contract but have so far only dealt directly with Apple.

Apple refurbs are usuaully as good as new kit. I've had a couple of 4S's and couldn't tell they weren't factory fresh, because they are really.

It's likely to be refurbished, but you would never tell tbh.

Most of their refurbished products are effectively refurbished by replacing any failed components and then re-shelling the item.

Don't worry.

Yeah, I had my iPhone 5 replaced with a remanufactured one after it developed a camera fault. The replacement was as good as new. All the external parts are brand new.

Several replacement phones over several models.

Have never been able to tell difference from brand new.

Apple are under no obligation to give you a brand new phone but just because it is reconditioned I bet you won't even be able to notice the difference.

It all about the good customer service with apple I dare say if you would have tried though your pro user it would have been a totally different issue
