I have an existing network I want to extend what is a simple way to do so?

One thought would be to create two wireless networks which overlap each other with one having access to the internet whilst somehow allowing the 2nd network access to the internet through the first network. Is this at all possible?

EDIT

I've read baddasses faq and what i need is a wireless roaming network but can anyone recommend a manufacturer.

Yes its possible to do what you are after.

Give us a bit better idea of what needs to be connected, across what distances, and what kit you have already and we can give you some better advice.

Existing Kit

1 pc wired to the DG834gv2
2 laptops (1 built in wirelss)
1 DG834gv2
1 WG511t wireless pc card
1 9dbi Omni directional antenna
1 Adsl line

My building has a ground, 1st and 2nd floor. The adsl line and GD834gv2 are on the 2nd floor and I want to extend the wireless network to the ground floor. The wireless network on the ground floor is patchy and keeps loosing connection when roaming.

I would like connection on the ground floor.

Sounds like a wirleless repeater on the 1st floor would do the trick, but never having used one I can't recommend a good'un for you.

I've had a search and found the [HWUR54G] Hi-Gain Wireless-G Range Extender which looks good. If the hype is to be believed then it should work a treat.

Installed the extender and it works a treat:) I now have a good connection in an old victorian building two floor down:)
