Sigh this is a pain but hey...

So I just realised today my acess point hooked up to my ADSL router is unprotected - no WEP etc. Facepalm moment I know.

But I did this ages ago and eventually succeded - why it's not protected now I don't know.

The problem is, is that I can't access the web control panel for the access point. It just goes to my ADSL routers configuration page.

I remember someone on a game helped me but it was quite complex and I can't remember how I did it.

So could the network aces of OCUK pleassse help me?

And please, please but it in simplistic language - I don't have a clue on networks etc and the acrynoms that go with it :).

Cheers :)

is the adsl router also your wireless access point?

If this is the case, then there will be options within the configuration of the ADSL router to configure the wireless access point. They will make it easy to find and label it wireless or similiar.

If this isnt the case, you will need to find out the ip address of the wireless access point. you could ping sweep (or broadcast ping) your network and try all hosts that are online as im guessing this is a small home network with maybe 3 hosts? You could also try to port scan your network and look for ips with port 23 (telnet) open as some access points also have a telnet server on them.
