Configuring Cisco 1601 for ADSL

Hi,

Iv just managed to get a Cisco 1601 Router with an ADSL WIC, iv had experiences configuring ciscos but it was back in uni but that was donkey years ago. I want to learn the IOS and how to configure the router. Im in the networking arena but havnt really used cisco since uni, nows my chance

I want to learn at home, I have a Be* unlimited connection which at the moment syncs at about 13300kbps downstream and about 1023kbps upstream, im assuming this will be ok with the cisco?

Could anyone point me in the direction of some good step by step guides to configuring one.

First thing, I think you might be struggle with this setup. The WIC1-ADSL runs out of steam at around 7Mb/s, so you may not sync much faster than that.

Second, you need to make sure the IOS is up to the required level. I think it was 12.3-ish and over.

Lastly, I'd be tempted to install SDM or SDM Express and get yourself up and running that way and then look at tweaking the configs manually after.
