Right so I've recently bought a laptop and got rid of quite a lot of junk, it's been running much faster for the last couple of days.

The only thing was the wireless internet which was really slow, but I went into properties of the adapter and changed it from channel 11 to 6 and n to b/g.

With that problem solved I shut the laptop down, but now It's saying configuring windows features and has gone from 15% to 17% in 30 minutes!

Why is it doing this?

You see it whenever you enable/disable Windows features. Wait it out and it will either reboot and you're good to go or it should fail and roll back.

OK, it is done now, was a bit worried because it was stuck on 15% for quite a long time.

I didn't enable/disable any windows features though???

I know there is a thing in the control panel under programs that lists the features but I haven't even touched that.

Strange.

Not sure why in your particular case but I've seen it after uninstalling certain things. If its completed and doesn't come back then I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it.
