Hello folks.

So Im playing a bit of BF1 and F12018....

Currently have 3 X 24" setup and would like to go to one monitor setup.

Now I have my eyes on curved monitors but from what I can see here, a lot of people seem to be still going for normal flat panels at higher refresh rates etc.

I would love to hear your insights as to why go flat/straight over curved panels?

I noted the following potentials for myself.

LG 32GK850G

and

AOC AG352UCG6 black edition.

I will most probably upgrade my 1070, and main requirement is reasonable resolution and 100Hz + refresh rate and +30" screen size.

Cheers Starshock.

The curve on an ultrawide, when sat in front of one, becomes almost imperceptible after a short while. As an X34 owner I can attest to that. For 16:9 a curve is pointless, but for 21:9, given the extra width, I think it's a plus. I've actually sat in front of a flat 21:9 and it has the opposite effect, with the edges of the screen almost appearing to go away from you.

You will find the vast majority of people who think a curved monitor is a bad idea haven't actually used one. It's only in instances where 100% pin-point accuracy might be required for professional needs that it MIGHT be an issue (architectural drawings for example). I use Photoshop on mine without any issues whatsoever though.

What is your budget as that may dictate your choice more than anything else. If you're sticking with Nvidia I would personally go with G-Sync if you can. It does help.

Thanks for your insights Legend.

Budget-wise honestly spoken I have not yet defined, but if the right monitor is out there with the right specs, I can be flexible.

Lets say I have £500 ish in mind but I can go up to a grand if need be.
(Bear in mind I also need to add on another 300-500 + sell my own GFX card to get a new card - again not yet decided on this.

Please note some years ago I did have a X34 (I think the later revision of the X34 - cant remember the character!) and I had some issues with the panel - namely the higher refresh rates and a "moire" type effect when using the monitor at +100Hz. I did ask about this on here but got mixed responses from "doesn't happen on mine" to "its a normal feature" (but quite annoying).

I am gaming for sure but not anal about colour reproduction etc.
To be honest I think whatever I will go for would be a step forward from the Asus 24" that I bought 4 years ago....

34GK950G looks interesting any release date?

32GK850G has QC problems?

Other than the above, whatabout the AOC that I mentioned?
