conformant texture clamp, for ati cards? how?

Shimmering on ati x1950pro. How to get rid of shimmering?

A friend said to use conformant texture clamp to get rid of shimmering in games but ati CC doesnt have anything like that and doesnt have advanced settings as nvidia users have. So im wondering if theres a way to unlock hidden settings or somit.

Oh yeah he mentions negative lod bias as well but ati CCC doesnt have this either.

Nope that doesnt work. All it does is sharpen textures futher away it does nothing to help shimmgering.

Race drive grid at the mo, few other games has it too but grid is latest one ive played lately that i had seen it in. You can clearly see it on the white strips on the roads at about some distance in front of the car.
