Confused over which and how many licences I need
I have just had the spec back for the servers that will be required to run the new version of the Coda Finance software we use. I have listed the specs that we have been sent, we would need two of each as we would have a set for live and a set for dev.
We have bought 6 x Windows 2008 R2 x64 Standard and 2 x SQL Server 2008 R2 x64 Standard. This is where I am now confused as to whether we need Enterprise editions instead on the App and Db servers due to the 8 cores.
We would be running these in VMWare Vsphere virtual machines. So I am not sure how for example 8 virtual cores relates to the number of processors that the given version of Windows and SQL can handle.
Can anyone help to clarify the situation?
Web Server:
1x Quad Core Xeon
4 Gb Ram
App Server:
2 x Quad Core Xeons
12 Gb Ram
Database Server:
2 x Quad Core Xeons
16 Gb Ram
