I've got a nice 22" monitor coming tomorrow, which I will be taking to uni to use with my PC and xbox 360. I've also ordered the official VGA cable to connect the 360 to the monitor. I'm just confused about the sound, the VGA cable comes with 2 audio connectors am I correct? Where do these audio jacks go into? I was thinking of buying a 2.1 setup for uni also so would there be a place on the speakers for the audio jacks to plug into, aswell as having space for them to be plugged into my PC at the same time?

Looks like I will either have to get a convertor and then a coupler or get speakers which accept 2 inputs. Are there any 2.1 speakers on the market which accept inputs for xbox 360 and a PC?

The official VGA cable comes with a converter:

...but you'll still need a stereo coupler, unless you direct it to the line-in on your PC's soundcard which might be better if your wanting to use the same speakers for both 360 and PC.

Usually the mid to top end speakers usually do. Don't know any off the top of my head, you'll just have to seach through specs of them and what types of inputs they accept. All depends upon your budget really.
You can also try using a splitter, but you've got to make sure you've not got both things playing sound at the same time, as that'll sound a little horrid methinks.

Buy a set of speakers with an optical digital input (TOSLINK). There should be an optical output on the AV adapter on the VGA cable. Use that! It will give you excellent sound quality.

I found the audio leads were far to short on the vga cable so bought a little widget and some phono leads and hooked up to my stereo. Sounds awsome!
