Ok guys today I got myself a Samsung le monitor from Ocuk.

I understand that it has a mode that upscales 2d to 3d and have been playing games like this.

I then discovered 3d vision. So I did the transmitter hack and changed my monitor inf file. This worked abit but was slow and I had a few bsods.

I am now reading about hdmi 1.4? Would this be better?

I just want to play the odd game in true 3d and also a few movies.
The hack method seems scrappy to me

Any advice Ocuk. ?

You could use Tridef and side by side which is how Nvidia users can use the 3D via tridef.
Nvidia don't support frame sequential with Tridef.

I thougt trdef was ati?
So what your saying is put the monitor on 2d to 3d mode, then run tridef aswell?
Would this get me a better qualit picture?
Apologies here this is starting to confuse me

You're confusing yourself.
Tridef isn't AMD specific.
Run the monitor as normal.
Download and install the latest Tridef Samsung version.
It should auto run in side by side when you launch a game through the software.
To see in 3D you change your monitors 3D mode to side by side.

The problem is though that due to the way Side by Side 3D is, the image isn't as clear as frame sequential, which you can't get with Tridef using Nvidia, you'd only be able to use the Nvidia 3D Vision hack for it.

Lol, it's not a problem :p
Must say when I first got the monitor, sheesh, such an annoyance.
When I realised that I couldn't run frame sequential with my GTX680 I downgraded to my 7970.

hey martini1991, i'm getting an amd card soon so this is a matter of curiosity only.

in another thread from a day ago titled "Samsung S27A950D 3D Vision "hack"" you were instructing nvidia owners how to get frame sequential, and yet here you say you "couldn't run" frame sequential with your gtx 680. did you run into problems or something? because it sounds from the other thread like you were using the latest drivers and everything went smoothly

You can't get frame sequential via Tridef with an Nvidia GPU, that's what I was saying here.

You can only do frame sequential via the 3D Nvidia hack for Nvidia GPU's., but that's different to running tridef.

just tried used tridef. so much better, and it doesnt look a million miles of what i got with the hack! no freezing or bsods either,

yeah nothing wrong with Tridef at all. It would be nice to get frame sequential with it when using a Nvidia card, but apart from that it's simple to use, but you can tinker loads with it as well if that's what you want to do.
