I am about to get a Samsung 32" Twin HDMI TV and I can get a X360 Premium for £145-£155, but I am a monster PS3 fan (long live) and am definitely getting that console sometime in the future. Is it worth it?

What else can I do with this HDTV except watch TV?

I know you might be a 'longtime playstation' fan, but the fact is microsoft has pumped mega bucks into creating a brilliant gaming console. In my opinion, if you have a HDTV then a 360 is a must, there are some really stunning games out there and more importantly there is a big library of games so you are bound to find a few that you will like, so its not really a waste of money when you can have that much fun - and now in high def!

HDMI is pretty useless as it goes for the Xbox 360 (currently), but the TV will have component HD, and probably VGA input too for the 360.

I say get a 360, try it you might like it ;)

Seriously though, Lost Planet, Mass Effect, Gears Of War, Halo 3, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddesey, Virtua Fighter 5, Resident Evil 5, Fable 2, COD3, Forza 2, Dead Rising, Bioshock, Command and Conquer, plus goodness knows what else I cant think of in this sleep deprived state.

I must admit though, there are a few genres the 360 is weak in (fighting being the most annoying for me) but thankfully some Japanese style RPGs are starting to filter on to the console already.

So yeah, GET one. That dont mean that you shouldnt buy a PS3, but its just losing a lot of exclusives to the 360... GTA4, VF5 plus a few others. There are rumors of MGS4, but dont count on that yet till there is more solid info.

Xbox live is better then the PS3's offerings too, the only downside is you have to pay to play.

It should be noted, I am a 360 fan (not a fanboy) but a person who really enjoys the console. I will however buy a PS3, and maybe a wii too.

There are just not many exclusives coming out though are there, if I got both machines.

Dude the PS3 will obviously keep pumping out the killer titles. The X360 only has GoW and Halo 3. :(

Killer titles such as? If its such a killer system with killer titles why is it such a flop so far from what i can see in the way of sales figures.

You say both machines are getting the same releases, then say the PS3 will have killer titles, contradiction of statements? If they both have the same releases then why not just buy the cheaper system?

The xbox 360 has plenty of exclusives. Halo 3, the king of FPS games (edit: on consoles anyway), Lost planet, Mass effect which looks amazing and is from the same team that did KoTOR which was highly praised, then you have bioshock which is already looking like it is going to redefine the fps genre. Also Forza 2 and Fable 2 which are comming from microsoft game studios so will have plenty of $$$ backing.

Also a lot of people overlook the 360 exclusive Crackdown which is being made by Dave Jones who did lemmings and of course the GTA series and in my opinion the best western developer hopefully he can work his magic with the 360. He's also bringing out another 360 exclusive mmorpg based on gta3.

Sorry I should have said on consoles which is what I meant. I'll edit. But it seems to offer more than any playstation FPS offered in reviews and in regards to multiplayer both offline and online.

Lots, You can even get cheap DVD players for £40-50 that have HDMI output. Naturally HD-DVD/Bluray will use HDMI, Sky HD and Telewest too. As said the Xbox doesnt use HDMI, Either component or VGA (Or DVI via converter). Most HDTV's have atleast 2 of the following: VGA (PC) Input, Component and HDMI

I guess it depends on if you can afford both systems. If your an ardent PS3 fanatic with money to spend on only one system then wait for the PS3. If on the other hand you can afford to run both systems then I see no reason not to get a 360. I'm not gonna get into the whole which is better debate coz I personally don't care. All I will say is that the 360 is here now and it has plenty of great games. I'm certainly glad I didn't miss out on the likes of Dead Rising, PGR3, Burnout, GoW, Oblivion, GRAW, Spliter Cell, CoD 3, Prey, Fight Night etc. These are all great games that spring to mind which I've had the pleasure of playing over the last year.

As for the use of the TV, if you get a 360 and your interested why not get a HD-DVD player. Or you can hook up Sky-HD, a progressive scan DVD player or maybe even a Media streamer to stream HD stuff to the telly (I have one of these and it's great).

At that point I lost any interested in providing input to this thread. Single minded fanboy-ism ruins this particular area of the forums.

Seriously, why can't people accept that you can own all three next gen consoles if you want? Why does one have to win? All three consoles have their plus points. I understand not everyone can afford all three, so pick whichever has the biggest plus for you and then be quiet. Don't argue one is better than the other just because you can't afford the other one.

Im seriously thinking of getting a 360, wish I'd got one earlier actually - seems ive missed out. I was holding out for a PS3 cos im a fan of the GT games, but tbh Forza2 looks more appealing than GT4 in high-res, and apart from GT, none of the other ps3 exclusives interest me. Besides, most of the big games are coming to 360. Anyway after over a year of WoW I finally kicked the addiction and its put me off PC gaming totally, and the 360 lineup this year looks tempting so gonna have to take the plunge I think.

If you can get a 360 premium for 150 quid then I'd say go for it. :)
