Confused about cases

I've been scanning the forums to decide a case choice and am still a bit confused due to the almost endless options.

After intiailly wanting the Stacker 830 (on grounds of looks and some reviews) I've decided it's a bit big since I've not going to fill my case with hard-drives (3 at most - 2 more likely) and optical drives (one) (I've also been a bit troubled by mixed reports of build quality for the 830) - I do however need room for a 8800 gtx and Tuniq 120.

I've decided to chose from the Lian Li range since they have an excellent reputation for build quality and I like the style of the "closed front" designs with the doors over the drive bays.

I presume I only really need a mid-tower case for the amount of kit I'm going to put in so I am torn between the V1100 plus, the PC-101 and the PC-767.

Is there any difference between the build quality and cooling efficiency of these models?

Thanks for any info.

I have a V1000PLUSII myself :) .
As far as I can see, all three cases offer a great cooling solution, i'd personally go with the V1000 myself, seeing as it offers the same type of cooling system that I have installed (ie. CPU fan duct and a fan over the expansion bay).
Have a look on the official Lian Li website Lian Li products and decide for yourself what looks the best for you.
If you're planning on putting more harddrives in or if you would like the space, then the V series is a great choice.
If this isn't the case, a PC-7 PLUS will do the trick for you, had this case as my first and it was a great choice.

As far as I can see from the website, the internal layout of all three is pretty much the same so I am assuming that cooling performance wil be similar and therefore the choice is purely cosmetic?

Does the CPU air duct on these models accommodate large cpu coolers like the Tuniq 120 or Sythe Ninja?

I guess cooling performance would be similar in all Lian Li cases as they are very high quality.

Regarding the CPU fan duct, I honestly don't know, it's a question i'd liked answered as well :p .
You could always remove the fan duct but I still don't know if that would create enough room.

Here is a review of the V1100 I found useful.

Am I right in saying the V1100 is the V1000 with a door on the front?

I prefer the looks of the door and I assume it doesn't diminish cooling or Lian Li wouldn't do it.

Yup, a v1100 is a v1000 with a door. If you like those, have you looked at the Lian Li PC-101? Its essentially the new version of the v1100.

Thanks. I hadn't spotted that. It looks like they have ditched the wheels though. That was something I hadn't considered as a plus on a case until I had it - so easy to get at the back.
