Hi

I am confused and looking for suggestions for my new gaming laptop choices.

1st choice
Lenovo Legion 5 15 AMD Ryzen 7 6800H 16GB RAM 512GB SSD Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti 15.6" IPS QHD 165Hz Gaming Laptop - 2022

2nd Choice
ASUS ROG Zephryus G15 AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS 16GB RAM 1TB SSD Nvidia RTX 3070Ti 15.6" WQHD 240Hz Gaming Laptop - 2022

I returned the Razer Blade 15 Advanced RTX 3070 240Hz QHD, because it was literally a frying pan to type on, idle temps were 60-68. So please advice me which one should I go with and which will stay cooler during normal usage and coding.

The price difference between the two is £300

Regards

The specs speak for themselves. This is only something you can answer in all honesty.
I am tempted to get the Asus but lenvo Legion design I like it. Will I be losing too much performance if I go with the 6800h? One problem with the Asus is that the max memory support is 24GB. So in future if I want to upgrade the RAM will be stuck with 16GB single stick rather than 2x16GB

This dude does a lot of laptop test. From what I've seen, the Legion is the one to get, but Asus aren't far behind.

You can see on the thermal image tests that the Razer does indeed get hot on the palm rest area.

For the Razer blade, then I must have got a bad batch from Amazon. His temps on idle are normal 43. My blade was sitting on 60-69 and little browsing shoots it up to 75 C and the keyword was extremely hot and the palm rest as well. I returned it. I guess I will go with the Legion and save £300, 6900hs to 6800h won't make much difference I assume

Did you go for the Legion ?

I recently bought a Legion 7 (5800h/3070) and my kids have had Legion 5 Pros (5600h/3060) since Christmas.
I was put off the Zephyrus because the rear exhaust blows against the bottom of the screen. I wouldn’t place the rear of my laptop right against a surface, the recommendation is always to leave some space so this design seems surprising (but does look nice). I also wouldn’t want hot air constantly getting blown directly onto the screen.
How are the temps when on idle and normal workload? Does the keyboard area get too hot and uncomfortable?
