hi there, with a little patience and a lot of work and research i have finally managed a stable overclock of 3.0 ghz from my amd 64x2 5000+ Black Edition
i have run a full 1 hr stability test using prime 95 and core temp shows both cores on my cpu hitting a max 55c under load (more than i wanted but stable!) the confusing part is when i had a stable oc of 2.9ghz i was hitting a benchmark of 6449 (using amd overdrive) now ive finally managed the 3.0 ghz im getting less of a benchmark score 5337 both values are an average of the 3 tests using the same benchmark system. To get my oc ive raised the multiplier to 15 and the vcore to 1.35v im using an asus M3A series mobo and all my overclocking was via the bios can anyone shed any light on the lower benchmark? and if possible what i should do next in terms of my oc? should i continue to raise vcore and multiplier? last time i clocked to 3.1 windows wouldnt boot and i got the blue screen of death but this was under the old vcore of 1.25v just to add my memory is corsair 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered thanks.

I have one of these i am currently at 3.3 under load is around 50c idles at around 37c. What case cooler have you got? i have a freezer pro. Had it up to 3.4 but way to many errors. Can't help with the benchmark bit though sorry.
