From all the recent news covering AMD and ATi and how Corsair has now developed its newest memory module called the DOMINATOR in collaboration with nVidia how will this affect the graphics card?

I am gonne be buying an Intel processor, Corsair Dominator memory but want an ATi card purely because I love them and they deliver on performance. But with the AMD merger would I be better off getting an AMD processor? And the Corsair Memory would I be better off with an nVidia card? I am seeing a lot of merging and different components tailored to specific things and am beginning to loose track

Oh I miss the days when things were simple. Bring them back please :(

It won't. Simple as.

Edit: As for gfx card, etc. Don't get the Corsair mem.

Get a Core 2 Duo, then a mobo/mem combo that someone will recommend you in mobos + mem but there is enough threads that will help already. If you get stuck post a spec thread in General Hardware.

then the best gfx card possible :)

Yeah I mentioned a spec on that area of the forum with the following spec:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GhZ (PROCESSOR)
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (MOBO)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB (HDD)
Viewsonic VP2030b 20.1" Display (MONITOR)
Logitech Z-5500 THX 5.1 (SPEAKERS)
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator (Pre-ordered with OcUK (MEMORY))
ATi X1900 (GRAPHICS)
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro (SOUND CARD)

Why do you say not to go for the Corsair Memory? Do you think I would be better off with DDR2 OCZ PC8000 XTC Series?

Thanks

Its not memory i've even heard of, here or on XS (unless im very blind). There is better :)

Im not really concentrating on Core 2 mobos as Im not buying until October, from memory that mobo is ok/one of the best but there is better mem. :)

CR.

The memory is very new and is estimated to come out in September. Apparently they use a new heatspreader which suppose to increase performance and it being Corsair I am guessing they should be good.

Meh, dont buy until you know there good :)

Cancel the pre-order TBH.

Trust me, the 6800U I pre-ordered was a HUGE mistake :)

Somehow I doubt it will beat the awsome Geil (I think) value ram that clocks to 800+mhz @ 4-4-4-6 ish which is very very good for under £200 or £150.

Either way wait, see what people say :)

Get the Geil 6400 TBH :p

and as for Graphics Cards, i would get the X1900 XT.

Its an amazing price and delivers tons of performance for its price :)
