confused over upcoming tech

We couldn't really say for sure until the technology is actually released. But any motherboard i don't think will support it natively. There may well be such cards, but again we couldn't say for sure until the technology is mainstream. I'm holding out for a few years anyway, 32 and 22nm looks to good to miss just because i jumped the gun.
 
The new Gigabyte EX58A series mobos will support SATAIII... and they also have 24 phase power!

Dunno when these will be available though.
 
If you can get x1 or x4 PCI-E cards that can run several SATA 2 disks at full speed then a SATA 3 PCI-E card should not be a problem.

You may have to plug it into something faster than a x1 slot but i'm confident these cards will come out.
