Some of you may have noticed some of my posts about stutter in these forums over the past couple of months, which has been a nightmare.
Regardless of specc, that was not the problem, by changing every component, location, plug socket, monitor, different OS you name it.
Now i thought id give it another go tonight and see if i can solve it.
First step being use my GF's 8600 card, i took my 5870 out of my second PCI-E slot and put the 8600 in the first slot.
I slapped Mirrors edge on (i use this due to the perfect mass of parallel lines, so its easier to see this stutter) and wow, i didnt see much if not any, but arguably i wasnt sure due to the age of this card.
So i uninstalled all drivers etc put my 5870 in the first slot this time, did my drivers and slapped on Mirrors Edge once more, i couldnt see anything wrong with the output on my monitor..(Touch wood...)
Now what i don't understand is, ive been through all this before and its never fixed it.
Although Recently i did RMA(Boot Failure) my Mobo and receive another one, im pretty sure it wasn;t my original.
Could this have been a dodgy PCI-E slot? Has anyone ever heard of this?
