Confused with 3Dmark06 Score

Just taken my 260GTX card from my PC to my other halfs.

She was running a 9600gt before that scored 10362
The 260 scored 8300

Any idea why the drop in score? Is it a sign that the PSU might not be up to the job (its a Hiper 580W)

I would have thought that if the PSU wasnt up to the job then it would have just crashed or something.

260GTX should be streaks ahead of the 9600gt. Drivers installed correctly?

yeah cards dont generally slow down when theys not enough power, it'll just crash or power off

I know ATI cards need a driver re-installation, simple card swap will not work. have you re-installed the drivers?
Also in 3DM06 you can get a detailed report exported to excel, so you can see where the scores have gone down from. (assuming you have a previous result to compare with)
On a side note, why do you call a Q6600 "core duo"?

Ahh that would be due to the fact I just changed the name of the core when I changed my Sig and not changed the core duo part (doh)

I installed the latest drivers however it took me 4 attempts to get them on there as windows kept freezing during installation, poor girl is still using Vista.

Try using a driver cleaner program to remove drivers after uninstalling them first, then install the driver again.
