Hey all

Having clocked my E6300 quite far, i seem to now have a problem...

In the bios i have the FSB at 460...and the multi at 7...producing 3.22ghz right? well, wrong... everything says its clocked at 2.76....which means the multi is at 6...cpu-z says it at 6, but in the bios i have it set to 7? Everest reports the right one, but Windows system info says 2.76, as does Thermal analysis tool, and CPU-Z.. im really confused...

why does windows report my cpu multi at 6 when in the bios i have it set to 7?

Its having a tea break, run any CPU intensive task (Super-PI etc) and it should snap back to full speed.

Its a cool feature called Enhanced Intel Speedstep (E.I.S.T).

Ah right! Thanks.... i have speedstep off in bios, though that ruled it out...thanks v much for info! :D
