Confused with Resizable-BAR and Gigabyte z370

i am a bit confused with this Resizable-BAR thing i have a gigabyte z370 ultra gaming mb with 8700k and a gigabyte rtx 3080 gaming oc
there is a updated bios 16b for the mb to support resizable bar and there is bios update for the rtx 3080 so i updated both so i can get resizable bar working but i could not get it working it shows disabled i noticed on the nivida web site it only supports 10th and 11th gen intel cpu
so what is the point of gigabyte to update the mb bios to support resizable bar if the mb only supports max 9th gen intel cpu so right now it's useless if no support comes to my 8700k

Have you tried turning on the resizable bar option in the bios?

yes its on but i don't now it it cpu is compatible

It appears some people have it working with 8700k's so maybe double check the steps, have you downloaded the latest nvidia driver etc. Also make sure bios is set to EUFI and CSM is disabled.

You could always check with gigabyte and see what they say.

i tried to turn off csm it would not bootup just went back round and opened the bios again

Your windows would have been installed as MBR and will need converting to GPT so you can turn off CSM which is a requirement for the GPU to run resizable bar, fortunately it's quite a simple process and will only take a couple of minutes.
