Hi, i recently bought a shuttle pc of ebay but i want a new gfx card in there to replace the radeon 9800pro (AGP). But there is a sound card in there which i think may be in a pci slot, which if this is the case would mean i could go for a PCI express gfx card if i take the sound card out??? Is there any way to check if there is a PCI slot in there? Also can you get AGP sound cards or would i have to adopt for an external soundcard??

Sorry if this seems confusing or dumb, any help would be appreciated. :)

a pci ecpress card will not work in a pci slot.

pci is old...pci express is an all new thing...

you will need to get an agp card...you should be able to dig up a 6800gt or something in agp...

a pci slot is not the same as a PCI express slot.
you would have an agp slot for a 9800pro, for an agp card they are pretty good.

hope that helps

AGP ports are for graphics only, PCI-E is replacing that now though with support for more then just graphics cards.
