I think ive been out of the loop too long,

I am wanting a 3 monitor setup for my pc as im doing a lot of virtual machine work at the moment towards some certification exams. and i dont like alt tab :P

Ive heard that the ATI cards have an audio out built into their DVI port so you can link it to a TV with a converter through HDMI which would be handy also,

I still need a main card that gives me reasonably good game performance so i was wondering what 2 cards i could use to give me this result,

My Spec

Asus Blitz Formula Board,
2gb OCZ Reaper Ram
Leadtek 7800
E6550

Thanks in advance guys

Ok thanks, i have a 22" monitor would that card run the latest games at high widescreen res or do i need to get a Nvidia 88 series and ditch the HDMI with audio idea?

not fussed tbh but i really like the idea of one dvi port to send video and audio so the top ATI 2900 but i dont understand the 1gb part are they that as standard in the text it says "supports up to 1gb" which confused me.

I'm not really sure what the 8800s offer in terms of HDMI but I believe the ATi 2900 series cards can do it using a special connector which you plug onto the DVI port, and that it also gives sound.

I personally wouldn't touch the 1GB version (unless VM is the kind of software that would use the huge framebuffer) and just settle for the 512MB one instead, maybe even just a 2900 Pro. :)
