I am getting on a bit so pls be patient with me.....

I have 2 contract phones with EE. One for the wife and one for my son. I have a contract phone with Orange. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it is getting a bit battered.

I have purchased outright an iphone 5c to replace the S3. I rang Orange and agreed to transfer my account to EE so I will now get double data allowance for £2 more per month and can manage all 3 in one place online. I was a little surprised that the two systems do not 'talk'.

They are sending out a new sim card. My question is, can I speed up this process by getting a sim from an EE shop? I rang EE customer services and they said no but I may not have explained clearly.

Apologies for this long winded narrative.

The SIM they are sending you out is likely (you can phone up and ask them to confirm) pre-provisioned for your account and thus I would suggest waiting. If it's not pre-prov you can goto a shop and get a new one but EE use first class post typically so it shouldn't take too long either way.
