Hi all. I am with Freedom2Surf and suffering from really bad speeds at the moment. It never used to be this way. I am paying £22.50 for an 512 line with "unlimited" bandwidth. I am trying to troubleshoot the issue but I still cannot contact F2S tech support and the various speed tests I have tried give me mixed results (nothing is downloading in the background during these tests).
The ThinkBroadband speed test reports the following:
BT SpeedTest reports:
Have tried resetting router, upgrading firmware, swapping routers, changing cables and filters etc... nothing works. The ADSL is fed directly from the master BT socket and the wiring has been checked. All is well. I can download from fileplanet, microsoft, various other sites at full speed... torrents, P2P stuff, FTP, other websites even just browsing can be painfully slow... to the point where even a MODEM would be faster
Is traffic-shaping or whatever it is called to blame?
So what am I to do? Any suggestions?
