I ran CPU-Z on my system at stock, and it's reading my core speed at 802mhz, But when I OC'd it to 3.5 it was reading it at that, If I quickly click on to CPU-Z it flashes 3.0 every so often. Any reason for it to do this? :S

This is it at stock

The power savings are huge though. If you can, you should leave it on.

The point sr4470 is making is that CnQ makes the clock speed and volts decrease when idling. So, even though you test stability at full speed and volts, you won't have tested for the clocked-down speeds.

I thought about this and tested with my E7200 for stability at the reduced clocks/volts by running stability progs with their cpu usage throttled by some software (can't remember which one off hand). Turned out it was stable, so I kept it. As I said, massive power savings.

Not impossible, just that I wouldn't recommend it. It depends on whether your specific example is sensitive to voltage differences. Still, 0.4v is a big gap with modern processors.

If you were that concerned about power savings, why overclock at all? :p
