confussed ??

ok i have, q6660 core, 4 gb ddr3 , asus p5nd motherboard and bfg oc 280gtx.
get good all round fps in all games but thnking i should try and improve things.

have been looking at i7/i5 and also new amd six core things very confussed if any are going to improve my fps. asked around a few people most are saying i5.
should i stay quad core or go dual?


what do you think?

Stay quad core, the Q6660 is a good chip to last you for a while, and Sandy Brigde/Bulldozer is right around the corner. Have you overclocked it?
You mean DDR2 ram right?

I would stick with your current setup unless you plan on doing a lot of video encoding soon
