all this memory stuff has just fried my brain :confused:

at the min my mem is running at 270mhz happily on my opty 146 @ 2.7ghz
but reading through this mem section i see pople recommending that command thing to 1T and 'loosening the settings'

i tried the 1T thing and it caused my pc to reboot itself after 5mins
heres what my settings are now

its OCZ gold XTC pc4000 1gb sticks

also will it matter with the amount i have as ive got 2 more same 1gb OCZ sticks that i have to put back in

you dont mention what motherboard your using
defently mainboard if you cant set 1t

its the asrock dual sata, and i can set 1T but it reboots after 5mins if at 1T

where it says 3.0, 4, 3, 7 on the left image. write down the 'trc' etc that is next to them and then go into the bios and change them to 3.0, 4, 4, 8. This is what 'loosening the timings' means. (tightening would be 2.5, 3, 3, 7)

then try setting the command rate to 1T

edit - i dont know why the tras is different (7 and 8) on the pictures. maybe someone else can help on this?

lol i did that and now it takes that 1T invention fine ta

but cpu-z reports my nice 1gb OCZ modules as 16mb ECC lol
