Not everyone in this forum wanders over to GD very often so I thought I'd start a thread here to congratulate Bigstan and Billy the Impaler for being awarded the Man of Honour avatar for 2007.

Well done to you both.:)

Thanks dude.
Bit of a surprise tbh but a welcome one nonetheless :)
Indeed, I thought you had to be a GD/SC regular to get such an honor. I didn't think that hardware-Linux-distributed-computing regulars were really up for consideration. :p

Thanks a lot, fellows. :)
Having been one in 2006, I salute you sah
If you don't mind me asking, why don't you have the status now? I thought it was a semi-permanent designation. Feel free to decline to comment.

Heh beats the hell out of me, I wasn't ever told what or how it worked, I was just honoured to be picked.

I was an Underboss for a while too until lack of time got the better of me. It was me, Zerker and Adwhitworth I think at the time. Or at least it felt like it :)

It might have even been before 2006 I can't remember much further back than 10 days ago :)

I've never been a big poster to GD either.

I've no idea how the Honour system works but it sounds good to me! Well done!
AFAIK the mods, in secrecy, nominate, debate, and elect the recipients and the honor is granted on a semi-permanent basis. They have to go and manually remove people they no longer deem worthy. With this model, though, I still don't know why Mr. Biffa has lost his title. Oh well.

Suppose that adds to the mystery. :D;)

BigStan - Participates in Team OcUK Distributed Computing projects and an excellent contributor to the forums.

By that logic we should all have the MoH 2007 award. I suspect they're in the post :)
