I have just got back a replacement connect 3d x1950xt card to replace my faulty one.
While the card was away i was using an x800xt which seemed to perform just as well  for what i was playing.

Anyway now i am going to reinstall it what is the best current drivers that i can use for the x1950xt and also if poss pls provide link to download page to make sure i get the right ones :D

7.1 drivers with ATT if you plan on using ATT then read the overclocking sticky. Download Catalyst package and then install the display driver and WDM controler thingy dont bother with the catalyst controle center ;).

Latest version of ATItool can handle overclocking, it sets the card to 3d speed as soon as you load it, and u can then make profiles for 2d and 3d from there. I would still be using the ATI control panel but with the inability for the people who make overclocking tools to figure out the 2d/3d speed change until now, Ive just gone with the CCC, the default drivers.

If ** testing your card which u should when recieving a new one, use the all in one driver (driver, catalyst control center, WDM driver); then u can start using other programs which may or may not work right. Consider that 2d and 3d changes not only speed but voltages too. So its not easy to make profiles without finding out the normal 2d and 3d voltages are. As of yet I havent bothered overclocking my x1900xt at all.

Yeah only drivers that are compatible are the 6.12's, and the latest 7.1's, so you could grab those with the CCC (full packages, which also requires the .NET), or as said you could downlaod the Display Driver on its own, and use ATi Tray Tools to do all your AA/AF etc... settings which doesn't need all the .NET. :)
