connect Phone to computer screen?`

Hi all, I can easily connect my Moto X Play to my TV via pressing "cast" on my phone

I want to be able to connect to my PC monitor, either via the PC and use the mouse and keyboard, or direct to the monitor and ill get a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse ?

any ideas? there's a few apps that do it, so no idea where to start

Vysor can mirror the screen via USB to a PC: http://www.vysor.io/

If doing it via directly to the monitor route, Chromecast will be the cheapest and easiest option, and works exactly like your TV (just press cast on the phone).

as for casting to my monitor? not sure I can do that, unless Google chromecast make a DVI or SVGA one?

HDMI only sadly. I'm sure some sort of adapter to DVI will work however.
