Connect PS3 to display port

Hi guys I have just bought a new monitor which only has vga, dvi and a display port input.

I want to run my pc through dvi and my ps3 through display port. (Or the other way round)

Anyway I need an adapter to convert the hdmi male to display port male, I would prefer a lead to be honest but I can cope without.

ANybody know if they exist, I can find lots of disply port to hdmi but apparently non going the other way...

I doubt he needs an active adapter, given he isn't trying to get it to work with ATI eyefinity.

just type HDMI to Displaport adaptor into google. It's not rocket science!!!!!!! There are hundreds of them. Ignore the active one marc512 posted, that's not what you need and you should get what you want for under a tenner

I did and as I said all that comes back is display port to HDMI instead of HDMI to dsiplay port.....

Hmm thinking about it does it matter, they are both male connectors, sometiomes my brain hurts.

Seriusly though the ones I can find have a female disply port, I need a male display and male hdmi.

what are you on about. All that comes back is hdmi to displayport!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I mean 15.95, they happen to add a 5.95 processing charge as the order was under 42 quid, that and delivery brings to to 15.95.

Well cable arrived today and doesnt work.

It seems these cables only work one way, and that way is from a display port source to a hdmi display. So if anybody is thinking of doing something similar don't bother.

I here there is an apple adapter available but from what I can tell it's $400.

Will have to find a dvi splitter me thinks or just run my pc through d sub.
