Connect to AD and a share

Hello there

I am a apple noob, i got an imac for work (normaly deal with Windows stuff) to play about with as have some mac already but are support from an outside company. Now i was wondering if there is an easy way to connect it to AD and also bring in a few shares from say one of the windows machines, and have it come up each time the mac started.
