Hi!

Ok first time poster so please bear with me!

I bought the above card and after going to the ATI site donwloaded the latest drivers ( 7.2 ). Now the spec on the OC page states 625 mhz core and 1800 mhz memory speed.... I get 500 mhz core and 1100 mhz memory.

I have used the overdrive feature to test for the best speed but when I apply it.. ( 650 mhz and 900 ( 1800 mhz effective ) my pc will not play ball and play any games.

Has anybody else had any probs with the card or know what I can do to rectify it?

Cheers!

The speeds you are reading (500 / 1100mhz) are the 2D clocks mate , when you open a 3D app the card will increase it's core & memory clocks automatically to it's 3D settings in your case 625/1800 respectivley, when you close the app it'll clock down to 500/1000 again:).

I personally find the overdrive feature rather dodgy , it works for some & not for others so use a proper OC tool such as ATItool.

Welcome to the forums. :)

Is that whats dispalyed in Overdrive, could be the 2D speeds, as it switches to its full 3D speeds when gaming etc..., the requested speeds that are quoted should be the 3D speeds.

Gah beaten. :p

Thanks guys, put my mind at rest, was wondering why overdrive was telling me it could clock to 600+ and 900+.

It gets those settings when it goes off and does all its tests. All I need now is a quieter HSF lol
