Connected 3.5mm jack to balanced headphones

Hi everyone

I picked up a 3DS on lockdown and would like to use it with my IEMs. I upgraded to a balanced 2.5mm cable a while back and wanted to check that I can use them in an unbalanced 3.5mm jack with an adapter.

It looks like an unbalanced source to balanced headphones works, but I wanted to check before I do anything expensice/stupid.

you'll only damage anything if you run a balanced output into a single ended load

Thanks! The crazy thing is there's a ton of 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapters pint there, but 3.5mm male to 2.5mm female adapters are really thin on the ground.
