I have tried this today and it just wont work, i have connected laptop to 360 then bridged a connection between the wirless adaptor and the ethernet and it creates it and it says its all fine.

The 360 however just cant see the pc, what do i try as all of the guides see to just say it should just work when you have bridged but it doesnt. I tried getting the ip of the laptop and manually connecting the 360 with those details but still nothing.

When on your 360, set all the things like IP address to automatic rather than manual. This worked for me :) and then set ICS up on your laptop

Copied this from another post I made on xbox forum.

In order for me to get wifi working on the xbox/laptop as I was getting an error message, I had to change the IP address of the router and the start/finish range of the DHCP bit. only changed it from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 then replaced the 0 to a 1 in the DHCP bit, worked fine after that.

For XP

Start,
My Network Places,
View Network Connections,
Right click Local Area Connections,
Properties,
Advanced,
Then under Internet Connection Sharing click the two boxes.

If you get an error message about the Lan being already configured with the same IP address, do what I said above.

If i enable ICS on the Local Area Connection it stops my internet working, no idea what to try i know nothing about networking really.

When I done mine I had the settings on the 360 set to auto.

I done this yonks ago, but I'll try it again later and see what happens with the net, although I'm using XP but it may help narrow down the problem.

Nah 50 quid for that is a joke.

Me not having vista, or you not having xp I dunno how much help I can be, I did read something about setting your network to private?

Have you tried the ip change and the dhcp part I mentioned up above?

Your using a patch cable?

No error messages just doesn't work and when you enable ics you loose the net?

I have now managed to fix it by tweaking the ip stuff on the Sky router as per a guid, i can now share the wireless connection on lappy and its working, thanks for help
