i want to connect my xbox 360 to my pc soundcard so i can output sound through my hi-fi speakers..already have my pc hooked up to my hi-fi...i tried hooking up the 360 using a digital cable to my onboard sound card P35C-DS3R..but having no luck..what am i doing wrong..is it even possible??..thanks

your onboard sound only has optical out, so theres no way of connecting the xbox to the soundcard, you may want to buy a optical switch (google it)

Line in? Thats how I connect the PS3....

This is how I was running my 360 until I got fed up with needing the PC on as an amp and so plugged it straight into my speakers.

I got the MS VGA cable, and then two of these, and one of these, and put it into my line-in. That then turns the phono into a PC usable connection. Although if you have a phono in on the sound card then you can just use that.

I've got too many connections on my sound card, because I have a break-out box which has pretty much everything in and out. :D
