I have a c2d rig, and have linked it via ethernet to the xbox, and am using a bridged connection to deliver live. I have just installed SP2(xp os) and ran the setup for linking the comp to the xbox that i got from the microsoft website. However...

my computer shows the xbox 360, thru the windows media connect, but the xbox cant pick up the computer

i get all these messages that folder sharing has started etc etc, but im a bit stuck as for what to do!

If anybody could help i'l love your forever and ever and ever

Benny.

edit: my lan connection is shown as cable unplugged, but i can connect to live fine, if i click properties and then okay it sorts itself... wierd

t'll likely be firewall issues. What firewall are you running?

To get mine to work I had to make sure that the firewall (ZoneAlarm) trusted everything from 192.168.1.xxx, or whatever IP range the Xbox has.

yeh im using zonealarm atm, had to lower security from high to medium in order for the xbox to pick up all the net settings. shall give it ago later when im back from work, getting up at 8 for a 17 year old on christmas holidays isnt an easy thing!

how do i find which IP i need to add to zonealarm? in order for this to work? and if you could explain how to do so that would be great :)

On the 360, find out the IP address, it'll be somewhere in the network settings.

In Zone Alarm, got to "Firewall", select the "Zones" tab, then Press "Add > >" and select "IP Address". Then stick the IP in there for trused. It should do something, hopefully, to fix it.
